Peter Huston is an award winning producer, writer, and 2 time Emmy nominated director. He is a graduate of Boston University School of Public Communication (SPC’81) BS with a minor in Political Science. After franchising and managing a cable company production facility, he began producing several regional series for cable. In 1987, with his company Horizon Media, he began to provide complete production support for factual series, documentaries, and corporate clients. In 1992 Horizon Media launched “WorldScape” a 13 part series hosted by Walter Cronkite featuring world famous maritime artist John Stobart on PBS. In 1993, with two partners, the non-profit “The Visionaries” was launched, and an award-winning documentary series hosted by Sam Waterston was created. For over 9 years Peter was a producer, director, and production manager for “The Visionaries”. As director and senior producer, Peter has continued to write and produce programming for PBS, Hallmark, Odyssey, Home & Garden, MTV, Fox, and non-profits such as The Perry Group, Lake Erie Heritage Foundation, Pan Mass Challenge, Jimmy Fund, Alzheimer’s Association, Lake Erie Shores and Islands, NFPA, Children’s Literacy foundation, Faith and Values, Veggie U, Veterans for Peace and has co-produced a feature film and done scores of corporate and educational projects.
